On September 24 and 25, 2020, the enrollment days for the new academic year 2020/21 took place on the campus and in the cafeteria of UMCH in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. During the event, the first-year students, who were divided into groups for the enrollment days and for the academic year, were warmly welcomed and then provided with all the important information they needed for an optimal start to their studies at various stations, which they successively passed through with their groups. In addition, there was plenty of time to enjoy refreshments and food as well as the opportunity to get to know future fellow students of the respective groups before the official start of the studies.
During the two days, the various measures taken by UMCH to combat the coronavirus pandemic – such as wearing face masks and observing the rules of distance – were taken seriously and implemented accordingly. In the realization of the event, which ran completely smoothly, the campus administration was vigorously supported by volunteers from UMCH’s Buddy Program. The students of the third semester led the individual groups from station to station, were available for answering questions and additionally led the newcomers on a tour of the campus.
We wish all first-year and third-year students a successful start to the academic year 2020/21 and would like to thank the buddies who made the enrollment days considerably easier with their support and will continue to accompany the first-year students during the course of the year.
