Lecture: “Warm-Weich-Dunkel” (Lecture Language: German)
How does the job of a midwife look like and what is their daily routine? This question is not only relevant for prospective parents, but also for future physicians. On November 2, 2022, midwife Anna Brodersen will address these and many other questions during a ReachHigher presentation. Among other topics, she will explain what constitutes an “ideal birth”, share stories about extraordinary birth experiences and point out do’s and don’ts when dealing with childbearing women, their companions and midwives. Her ReachHigher issue is planned as a kind of “birth preparation course for medical students”.
Anna Brodersen, who describes herself as the “enfant terrible of midwifery”, is a self-employed midwife who runs her own practice. She cares for families from positive pregnancy tests through postpartum and nursing and offers prenatal care as well as childbirth education. As one of the first undergraduate midwives in Germany, she places a high value on evidence-based care for women.
