Lecture: “Educational Coaching” (Lecture language: English)
On October 20, 2021, there will be a ReachHigher lecture with Prof. Dragos Iliescu on the topic of “Educational Coaching”.
Balancing the psychological well-being of students with the pursuit of academic excellence in their studies is no easy task. Often, everyday academic life is associated with stress, as a lot is demanded of students – both mentally and physically.
In his lecture, Prof. Iliescu addresses the prevailing models that describe the mental processes of students in academic situations. Among other aspects, the demands, resources and personal characteristics that define individual growth, development, well-being as well as performance of students are highlighted. Iliescu also discusses in detail issues such as burnout – including in the academic context. In addition, he addresses what actions can be taken to minimize stress and maximize emotional well-being.
Dragos Iliescu is a professor of psychology at the University of Bucharest. His research interests can be divided into two main areas: On the one hand, he deals with applications of psychometrics and, on the other hand, he conducts research in the field of applied psychology – especially in the field of occupational, industrial and organizational psychology.
