If you are an EU citizen and you hold a higher education entrance qualification, no specific average grade is required to apply for the program. You must provide a high-school diploma which allows you access to university entrance qualification. If you are a NON-EU citizen, you will have to contact the UMCH Admission Team to receive further information about the requirements of your high-school diploma depending on the issuing country. Anyone wishing to study beginning in the coming academic year should start planning now. If you don’t have a general higher education entrance qualification yet, you can and should already apply – provided you are in the second last or final year of the upper level (e.g. Gymnasium, High School). Early application is recommended, as our students are successively admitted for studies at UMCH.
Future medical students are selected based on their written application documents and our admission procedure. The oral part of the admission procedure focuses primarily on the applicant’s personal qualification and motivation. This may also include questions about the application documents you have submitted (e.g. work or internship certificates for previous activities in the medical field or volunteer work, etc.). The written part consists of 75 multiple-choice questions on biology, chemistry and general knowledge. All three areas are equally weighted. The results of the written and oral part are included in a ratio of 60:40 in the applicant’s overall assessment.
There's no need to worry about minimum grades or specific subject requirements—just ensure you have successfully graduated from high school. If you're completing A Levels, simply have at least 2 subjects under your belt. It's that straightforward! What is even better is that you can apply up to 2 years in advance. Once you receive your offer for the study program, you'll be issued a visa letter to facilitate your visa application process. This crucial document will support your journey, ensuring you have everything you need to start your international education adventure seamlessly.

If you have already begun studying medicine at another university, it is usually possible to continue your studies at UMCH where you last left off – ideally without losing any time. For this purpose, we will check which credits you already earned academically can be accepted and what you may have to catch up on. Please contact us for a non-binding preliminary examination, after which we will inform you whether we can give you credit for any time and/or achievements associated with your previous studies. All we need for this are some scanned documents that can be sent to us via e-mail at info@edu.umch.de.
Tuition fees are charged to enable students to study medicine at a first-class level.
