On April 24, Dr. Charalambos Dokos, Senior Consultant in Acute and Emergency Medicine at Märkische Kliniken GmbH, Klinikum Lüdenscheid, visited UMCH as part of a Reach Higher event. He provided students with a practical insight into the complex interplay between health economics, health policy, and management in everyday medical practice.

On March 27, 2025, the UMCH Campus hosted another inspiring edition of the Reach Higher lecture series. This time, Prof. Dr. Max Meyer-Marcotty, Director of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Klinikum Lüdenscheid, delivered an engaging talk titled “Plastic Surgery in the Interplay between Form and Function.”

On March 6, Dr. Benedikt Knof, Director of the ENT Department at Klinikum Lüdenscheid, delivered a lecture as part of the ReachHigher series titled “Fascinating View Through the Keyhole.” He presented the latest advancements in endoscopic and microscopic surgery in ENT as well as head and neck surgery, providing participants with a comprehensive insight into innovative surgical techniques that are shaping the future of the field.

Zweibrücken/Landstuhl/Hamburg – The Nardini Klinikum Zweibrücken/Landstuhl has been named a new Academic Teaching Hospital of the UMCH – University of Medicine Hamburg. With this partnership, the hospital is taking another innovative step in recruiting qualified young professionals: Students from the UMCH campus will now have the opportunity to complete their practical training phases at the Zweibrücken and Landstuhl hospitals.

Bad Pyrmont/Hamburg – The AGAPLESION EV. BATHILDISKRANKENHAUS in Bad Pyrmont has been named a new Academic Teaching Hospital of the UMCH – University of Medicine Hamburg. This means that students can now complete their practical training phases at this facility. In preparation for this collaboration, extensive discussions were held with all stakeholders at the Bathildis Hospital. Additionally, visits took place at the Hamburg campus and the hospital in Bad Pyrmont.
