On October 9th, 2025, we were honored to welcome Dr. med. Michael Wünning, Chief Physician of Emergency and Acute Medicine at Katholisches Marienkrankenhaus Hamburg, to our campus for an inspiring Reach Higher lecture on Emergency Medicine.

In his talk, Dr. Wünning offered a compelling look into one of the most dynamic and impactful fields in healthcare where no shift is ever the same and every patient brings a new challenge.

From trauma care and resuscitation to disaster response and humanitarian missions, Emergency Medicine blends rapid decision-making, teamwork, and cutting-edge science.

As the initiator of Germany’s first Integrated Emergency Center and Congress President of the International Conference on Emergency Medicine 2026, Dr. Wünning shared both expertise and vision. His lecture reminded students that Emergency Medicine is not only full of adrenaline but also full of purpose – a specialty that truly embodies action, compassion, and impact.
