Bad Pyrmont, June 8, 2026 – The successful collaboration between UMFST-UMCH and AGAPLESION EV. BATHILDISKRANKENHAUS in Bad Pyrmont has been formally recognized through the presentation of an official teaching hospital plaque. The partnership, which has been in place since 2024, provides UMFST-UMCH medical students with hands-on clinical training in a modern hospital environment.
During his visit, Hon.-Prof. Christopher M. F. Musmann, Managing Director of UMFST-UMCH, gained insights into the teaching hospital’s educational and healthcare structures. Together with Managing Director Dr. Peter Hermeling and Teaching Hospital Coordinator Prof. Dr. Christoph von Schulze Pellengahr, he toured key clinical departments, including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Stroke Unit, and Diagnostic Services. The visit also included a presentation of the learning facilities at the Weserbergland Health Academy.
The partnership between AGAPLESION EV. BATHILDISKRANKENHAUS and UMFST-UMCH is already producing positive results. A UMFST-UMCH medical student recently completed her second clinical placement at the hospital in Bad Pyrmont. During her rotation, she gained valuable experience across several medical specialties and particularly highlighted the dedicated support provided by physician tutors as well as the welcoming and collaborative working environment across all professional groups.
Through close integration into daily clinical practice, students are able to apply theoretical knowledge directly to patient care while developing essential practical skills for their future medical careers.
“Training the next generation of physicians is an important investment in the future of healthcare. We are delighted to be recognized as a teaching hospital and look forward to supporting UMFST-UMCH students on their journey toward becoming medical professionals,” said Prof. Dr. Christoph von Schulze Pellengahr, Teaching Hospital Coordinator at AGAPLESION EV. BATHILDISKRANKENHAUS.
Following the tour, representatives of the hospital and UMFST-UMCH exchanged views on experiences in clinical teaching, opportunities for further development, and the future expansion of the partnership. Their shared goal is to continuously strengthen the connection between university education and clinical practice while providing students with the best possible learning environment.
The presentation of the teaching hospital plaque further underscores the role of AGAPLESION EV. BATHILDISKRANKENHAUS as an important teaching hospital partner of UMFST-UMCH. The hospital offers medical students the opportunity to gain clinical experience across a wide range of specialties and to prepare early for the demands of the medical profession.
The partnership is an integral part of UMFST-UMCH’s practice-oriented medical education concept and makes a valuable contribution to the training of future physicians.
