Approbation Guidance for Graduates

At UMFST-UMCH, representatives of Deutsche Ärzte Finanz visited the campus for a Lunch & Learn session designed to support medical students preparing for their transition from university studies to professional medical practice in Germany. The event was specifically tailored to sixth-year medical students approaching graduation and planning a future career within the German healthcare system.

The session was led by Deborah Meiners and Philip Kluger, who provided students with a comprehensive overview of important administrative, legal, and professional topics relevant to starting a medical career in Germany. Participants received practical guidance on the key steps medical graduates should consider after completing their studies and entering the German healthcare sector.

One of the main topics discussed during the Lunch & Learn session was the German approbation process for international medical graduates. Students learned about licensing requirements, application timelines, and common challenges associated with obtaining medical approbation in Germany.
