The UMFST-UMCH Teaching Hospital Days 2026 officially began with a welcome ceremony that brought together representatives from the university, partner teaching hospitals, and international diplomatic guests. The event marked the start of several days dedicated to strengthening collaboration in medical education, clinical training, and international academic partnerships.

Opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Leonard Azamfirei, MD, PhD, Rector of UMFST, and Prof. Simona Mureșan, MD, PhD, Vice-Rector of UMFST, who emphasized the strategic importance of international cooperation in advancing medical education and research.
Representing the campus management, Hon. Prof. Christopher Musmann, M.Sc. welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of the teaching hospital network in providing high-quality clinical training for medical students.
The ceremony was further honored by the presence of Francisco Javier Dago Elorza, Spanish Consul General, and H.E. Adriana Stănescu, Romanian Ambassador to Germany, whose participation underlined the strong international connections of UMFST-UMCH and the growing role of diplomatic partnerships in supporting academic collaboration.
Additional remarks were delivered by PD Dr. Peter Schott from Klinikum Werra-Meißner, representing one of the university’s partner teaching hospitals. He emphasized the crucial role of teaching hospitals in connecting academic learning with real-world clinical practice.
