Welcome to a new academic year at UMFST-UMCH!
We are delighted to welcome our entire university community back to campus – and especially the 145 new students beginning their first semester with us this year.
Over the summer, our campus underwent major expansion and modernization. Now spanning approximately 8,000 m², it offers even more space for teaching, practical training, focused learning and campus life.
We look forward to an inspiring and successful academic year together.

What’s New on Campus?
Digital Student Office
Service – Anytime, Anywhere
The new Digital Student Office brings key student services together in one place. Applications, medical certificates, enquiries and complaints can be submitted online and their status tracked transparently. Library services are also digitally integrated.
Centralized. Transparent. Available 24/7.
Digital Examinations
Efficient. Transparent. Immediate.
Examinations are conducted digitally on tablets, making the process faster and more efficient. Students receive their results and scores immediately after completing the exam.
New in the Curriculum
German Medical Terminology (GMT)
Preparing for Clinical Practice in Germany
From the academic year 2026/27, German Medical Terminology becomes an integral part of the curriculum with 4 ECTS credits for first year students.
During the first two years, students progress from A1 to B2 German, combining general language skills with medical terminology and communication. Reaching B2 level is required for the teaching hospital phase in Germany from the third year onwards. Existing German language qualifications may be recognized upon appropriate proof.

Following extensive construction over the summer, the UMFST-UMCH campus has grown to approximately 8,000 m².
New teaching, learning, simulation and community spaces provide even better conditions for studying medicine and experiencing campus life.
Two Simulation Centers
Practice-Based Learning
Our Simulation Centers provide realistic environments for case-based learning, workshops and practical training.
Students can apply theoretical knowledge, practice clinical scenarios and develop professional and communication skills.
Community Lounge
A Place to Connect
The new Community Lounge is designed for meeting, studying and spending time together.
A large world map celebrates our international community, inviting students to mark their home countries and show where the UMFST-UMCH community comes from.
Play Room
Study Hard. Take a Break.
Board games, Nintendo Switch, billiards, air hockey and table tennis make the new Play Room the perfect place to recharge and connect.
A stage with piano and drums also provides space for music and creativity.
Two Learning Labs
Space to Focus
Two new Learning Labs offer quiet, modern workspaces for independent study, exam preparation and focused learning.
New Auditoriums & Seminar Rooms
More Space for Teaching
Two new auditoriums and two new seminar rooms expand our teaching facilities.
UMFST-UMCH now has a total of four large auditoriums, providing more space for lectures, presentations and academic exchange.
A New Tradition
First White Coat Ceremony
December 1, 2026
This year, UMFST-UMCH will celebrate its first White Coat Ceremony for first-semester students.
The ceremony marks the beginning of their medical journey and will become a new tradition on our campus.
A milestone. A responsibility. A new tradition.
