Freelance Teaching Position | Medical Foundation Program | English-Speaking
The University of Medicine Neumarkt a.M. Campus Hamburg (UMFST-UMCH) educates future physicians through a six-year, English-language degree program in Human Medicine at its campus in Hamburg, Germany.
For our Medical Foundation Track, a preparatory program for prospective medical students, we are looking for a motivated Lecturer / University Instructor (m/f/d) in Chemistry and Biochemistry on a freelance basis.
The Medical Foundation Track provides prospective medical students with the fundamental scientific knowledge required to prepare for their future medical studies, including essential concepts in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
The courses focus on fundamental chemical and biochemical principles relevant to medicine and life sciences.

Teaching within the Medical Foundation Track
Existing teaching materials and presentations are provided
Teaching scripts, presentations, and study materials for Chemistry and Biochemistry are already available and may be adapted, supplemented, or further developed by the lecturer.
The teaching assignment is carried out on a freelance / independent contractor basis.
Teach Chemistry and Biochemistry seminars in English
Explain fundamental chemical and biochemical concepts relevant to medical studies
Prepare prospective medical students for the scientific requirements of their future degree program
Conduct and evaluate final tests
Support students with subject-related questions
Coordinate course content and teaching schedules with the course coordination team
Adapt and further develop existing teaching materials where appropriate
University degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a comparable scientific field
Strong academic knowledge of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry
Previous experience as a university lecturer, instructor, tutor, teaching assistant, researcher, doctoral candidate, or academic staff member is an advantage
Very good written and spoken English, as the program is taught entirely in English
Ability to communicate complex chemical and biochemical concepts clearly
Strong communication and presentation skills
Pedagogical skills, patience, and empathy when working with students
Enthusiasm for university teaching, science, and medical education
