Freelance Teaching Position | Medical Foundation Track | English-Speaking

The University of Medicine Neumarkt a.M. Campus Hamburg (UMFST-UMCH) offers a six-year, English-language degree program in Human Medicine in Hamburg.

For our Medical Foundation Track, we are looking for an Anatomy & Biology Teacher / Tutor (m/f/d) to prepare prospective medical students for their admission examination and their first year of medical studies.

The Medical Foundation Track is designed for students transitioning from secondary school to university. The program strengthens their fundamental knowledge of Biology and Human Anatomy and introduces key concepts they will encounter during their medical studies.

Teaching Scope

Teaching of fundamental Biology and Human Anatomy
Preparation for medical school admission requirements
Preparation for the first year of medical studies
Teaching language: English
Location: UMCH Campus Hamburg
Freelance / independent contractor position

Teaching scripts, presentations, exercises, and study materials are already available and may be adapted or expanded where appropriate.

Your Responsibilities

Teach Biology and basic Human Anatomy in English
Prepare students for medical school admission tests and first-year medical studies
Explain biological and anatomical concepts in a clear and accessible way
Conduct exercises, exam preparation, and final tests
Support students with subject-related questions
Coordinate teaching content with the Medical Foundation Track team

Your Profile

Strong knowledge of Biology, Human Biology and/or Anatomy
Relevant degree or advanced studies in Biology, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field
Teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage
Very good written and spoken English
Ability to explain scientific concepts to students transitioning from school to university
Patient, approachable, and confident in working with young adults
Enthusiasm for Biology, Medicine, and teaching

Applications from biology teachers, tutors, medical graduates or students with appropriate experience, Master's students or graduates, PhD students, biomedical scientists, and candidates from related life-science backgrounds are welcome.

Previous university-level teaching experience is not required.
