On September 22 and 23, the Welcome Days 2022 for first-year students of the new academic year took place on the UMFST-UMCH Campus in Hamburg. Within the framework of the multifaceted event, which was staggered for two groups of students assigned for this purpose, they had the opportunity to gather their first impressions of studying Human Medicine at UMFST-UMCH.
After a warm-up program with musical accompaniment by UMCH Band members Arushi Sarabhai Verma and Rascal Werner, which created a relaxed atmosphere, Dean Assoc. Prof. Simona Muresan presented the most important facts about the history of the university as well as about studying at its German branch in Hamburg in the campus auditorium. Afterwards, the brand-new students headed to the UMCH Cafeteria, where they had the opportunity to get to know each other better and lay the foundation for first friendships over a wide selection of lunch and dessert offerings. In addition, throughout the day, Buddies from higher semesters were available to answer any study-related questions they might have.
Following the lunch break, UMFST-UMCH students Pepe Valles and Matías Moya Guerra gave a “Study Survival Guide” talk to provide their new fellow students with valuable tips for a successful start to their studies. After a fruitful opportunity to ask Pepe and Matías questions, the buddies took their respective groups on a tour of the campus, ending at the UMCH Lounge. There, the future physicians concluded the thoroughly successful event together with a cool drink.
In the evening, the freshmen ultimately had the opportunity to celebrate the start of their new and exciting phase of life extensively with their buddies in Hamburg’s trendy St. Pauli district.
