Recently, on behalf of the UMFST, University Rector Prof. Leonard Azamfirei, MD, PhD visited Expo 2020, which has been postponed to the period between October 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 due to the pandemic.
At the Expo in Dubai, for the first time in the history of the World Exposition, there is a separate pavilion from each participating country. In total, there are 192 country pavilions and numerous partner, organization and special pavilions to discover. In these, there is the opportunity to meet innovations of various kinds, to familiarize oneself more closely with international organizations and to gain experiences in the fields of education and entertainment.
The Romanian pavilion is located in the so-called “Sustainability District”. Romania’s theme: new nature. Visitors are given an impressive insight into remarkable works from the fields of art, business and science. The focus is always on nature – emphasizing the connection to human beings.
Representing the Romanian educational community, Prof. Azamfirei gave a lecture on UMFST’s activities in Romania as well as at the German branch, UMCH in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. Among other topics, the audience could enjoy exciting facts about innovative measures in teaching and research.
