How can medical students embrace balance, focus, and resilience in their demanding academic journey?
On October, 14th 2025 third-year UMFST-UMCH students Nitika and Lawon inspired their peers with their first self-initiated Reach Higher event, “Reach Higher: Anxiety Management Techniques (Non-Medicated)”, held right here at our campus.
With openness and authenticity, Nitika and Lawon addressed one of the most relevant topics in student life: managing stress and anxiety through practical, non-medicated approaches. Their interactive session offered valuable insights into mindfulness, grounding, and breathing techniques, as well as body awareness, posture, and cognitive reframing tools that help build a calmer, more positive mindset.
The workshop was more than just theoretical: students were invited to actively participate, practicing hands-on exercises and testing techniques on the spot that they can now integrate into their daily routines. Nitika and Lawon also encouraged everyone to listen to one another, support each other, and take time to connect with their inner calm, fostering a spirit of empathy and community that reflects the very best of UMFST-UMCH’s student culture.
We are proud to have such motivated and engaged students on our campus who take initiative, inspire their peers, and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
We’re already looking forward to many more student-led Reach Higher events in the future.
