RECTOR’S WELCOMING SPEECH

Dear colleagues, students, and professors,

The University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology Targu Mures (UMFST) is an emblematic institution of the Romanian national higher education system, which provides education in medical and pharmaceutical sciences, together with scientific research, and national or international cooperation in the field. During its more than 70 years of experience, the University has been promoting both social and performance requirements: quality, competitiveness and competence.

The Faculty of Medicine, an integral part of the university, places the future physician in the center of its actions. The teacher-student partnership, implicitly established during 6 years of study, developed step by step in a dynamic, competitive and transparent framework, finally leads to the formation of generations of young physicians integrated in the international medical field.

The study program that our university offers since October 2019 to international students in Hamburg is intended to be the perfect link between tradition and innovation, between cultivating quality human relationships and exploiting the benefits of modern technology, between generosity and exigency, with the transparent taking over of the medical education process.

Guided by an experienced teaching staff, in a modern, motivating, high-standard campus, we will go along on the path of discovering one of the most noble professions. I am convinced that we will fulfill your dreams and the visions of the cultures you represent through joint commitment, cooperation and responsibility and train you to become adept doctors.
