The Knappschaftskrankenhaus in Bottrop is a modern and efficient hospital with currently 372 beds. It comprises the following 10 clinics: Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Internal Medicine, Angiology, Cardiology, Geriatric Medicine,  Nephrology/Dialysis and Rheumatology, Neurology, Radiology/Nuclear Medicine, Urology as well as Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. In addition, the complex is an academic teaching hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen. With two new buildings, in which a regionally certified stroke unit, three newly built peripheral bed wards and two comfort wards opened in addition to a new 22-bed interdisciplinary intensive care unit, the good infrastructure of the hospital was further developed in a future-oriented manner. A neurological rehabilitation clinic with 32 inpatient beds and 60 full-day outpatient therapy places is connected to the hospital.

New teaching hospitals in Bottrop, Recklinghausen and Gelsenkirchen
In addition to the three clinics in Speyer, Mettmann and Moers, our teaching hospitals now also include the Klinikum Vest in Recklinghausen, the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bottrop and the Bergmannsheil and Children’s Hospital Buer in Gelsenkirchen.
