The Knappschaftskrankenhaus in Bottrop is a modern and efficient hospital with currently 372 beds. It comprises the following 10 clinics: Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Internal Medicine, Angiology, Cardiology, Geriatric Medicine, Nephrology/Dialysis and Rheumatology, Neurology, Radiology/Nuclear Medicine, Urology as well as Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. In addition, the complex is an academic teaching hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen. With two new buildings, in which a regionally certified stroke unit, three newly built peripheral bed wards and two comfort wards opened in addition to a new 22-bed interdisciplinary intensive care unit, the good infrastructure of the hospital was further developed in a future-oriented manner. A neurological rehabilitation clinic with 32 inpatient beds and 60 full-day outpatient therapy places is connected to the hospital.
