Official Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2023/24
On Monday, September 25, the Official Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2023/24 will take place in the auditorium of the UMFST-UMCH Campus in Hamburg, Germany. As a special guest, Mr. Mircea Geoana, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, will visit the campus. He has held this position since 2019. During the Opening Cermony, there will also be speeches by representatives from UMFST-UMCH's academic leadership and campus management. In addition, members of the Student Council will have their say and a student will provide the musical program. Watch the event via livestream

As soon as you have uploaded all the necessary application documents there, you will receive an invitation to participate in our admission procedure, which consists of a brief evaluation and a motivation-based interview. Until further notice, you can follow the procedure comfortably and securely via video call from home. Please contact us after uploading your documents and receiving the invitation by UMCH so that we can arrange an individual appointment with you.

Digital Opening Ceremony 2022 @ UMFST-UMCH
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, the Digital Opening Ceremony for the 2022/23 academic year was streamed. In this video you can enjoy speeches by UMFST Rector Prof. Leonard Azamfirei, UMFST-UMCH Dean Assoc. Prof. Simona Muresan, and Student Council members, as well as a musical performance by the UMCH Band and short videos with messages from our first-year students.

UMFST-UMCH @ Hauptstadtkongress 2023
Between June 14 and 16, 2023, UMFST-UMCH – as the only representation of a medical university – presented itself at the Capital Congress on Medicine and Health (Hauptstadtkongress Medizin und Gesundheit) in Berlin. UMFST-UMCH’s participation provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the university’s innovative training concept and the benefits of its international network. The booth attracted many visitors, including medical professionals, health care providers and other interested parties from the industry.
Follow our Students | Bedside Teaching at St. Vincent Hospital Dinslaken
In this video, third-year UMFST-UMCH students show us their everyday life in their clinical practical study phase at St. Vinzent Hospital in Dinslaken. In addition to everyday tasks, such as changing bandages, they also get the opportunity to regularly participate in laparoscopic gallbladder operations, among other activities. In addition to impressions of the students’ practical work, this video also provides us with impressions of the in-house cafeteria and the common room of the future doctors.

At the UMFST-UMCH Teaching Hospital in Delmenhorst, the Delme Klinikum, our students learn in an institution rich in tradition, whose history dates back over 150 years. In this video, we accompany them in everyday life during a clinical-practical study phase. At the Delme Klinikum, where a new building is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion in 2026, they regularly get the opportunity to perform examinations on patients themselves – for example, ultrasound examinations on pregnant women. The hospital, which thanks to its own nursing school can look back on many years of experience in training medical staff, has 15 specialist departments and 7 medical care centers in the fields of Neurosurgery, Urology, Radiology, Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics, Physiotherapy, Pain Therapy as well as Visceral Surgery and Proctology.

In this video, UMFST-UMCH students who are completing their clinical-practical study phase at the Deaconess Foundation Hospital in Speyer, give us an impression of their everyday life during bedside-teaching. In the picturesque small town in Rhineland-Palatinate, the future physicians repeatedly get the opportunity to get hands-on with patients, among many other activities. The hospital comprises several special departments such as Gynecology and Obstetrics, where our students can gain a wealth of experience. In addition to impressions of everyday hospital life, our students also provide us with insights into their student life, which goes beyond mere theoretical and practical studies, in this video.

In this video, we accompany UMFST-UMCH students in their 3rd year of study on a typical working day during their bedside training at the Werra-Meissner Clinic in Eschwege. In the process, they give us insights not only into practical activities such as operations, where they get to be hands-on themselves, but also into the apartments where they live during their clinical-practical training.

Grand Opening of the UMCH Campus Hamburg
On Monday, 9/30/2019, the opening of University Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg (UMCH) took place at the university’s premises in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. The opening ceremony was a complete success. In the presence of well-known experts from health and education policy, more than 300 guests gathered at the UMCH medical campus – including many first-year students and their guardians.
Follow our Students | Bedside Teaching at St. Josef Hospital in Moers
At St. Josef Hospital in Moers, UMFST-UMCH students from the 3rd year of study show us their everyday life during their bedside training. Among other activities, we accompany them during on of the daily morning rounds, while practicing real examination situations such as sonography, as well as during lunch in the hospital’s own cafeteria.
