First Hands-on Insights for First-Year Students

UMCH Anatomy Workshop “Layers and Structures in Limbs Anatomy” for First-Year Students.

Under the guidance of Lecturer Dr. Zsuzsanna Incze-Bartha, Lecturer Dr. Ioan-Alexandru Balmos and Assist. Dr. Ylenia Pastorello the new students had the opportunity to explore the anatomy of a pig shoulder in small groups.

The workshop provided students with their first practical insight into anatomy while also challenging their teamwork skills. The pig shoulder served as a realistic model, structurally similar to the human shoulder. This allowed participants to precisely examine the different tissue layers and deepen their essential basic knowledge.

The first-year students were enthusiastic about the opportunity to gain practical insights just a few weeks into their studies. The Anatomy Workshop was well-received and considered a valuable addition to the theoretical training. Assist. Balmos, Pastorello, and Incze-Bartha emphasized the importance of practical learning opportunities that equip students early on with the necessary skills and teamwork abilities essential in medical education and future professional life.

The Anatomy Workshop at UMCH is thus another step in providing future doctors of the first cohort with the necessary knowledge and practical skills on their path to medicine.
