Lecture: “The Many Faces of the Myocardium – a MRI Journey” (Lecture Language: German)
On March 23, a ReachHigher edition with Prof. Dr. med. Oliver Bruder will take place at UMFST-UMCH. The Chief Physician of the Clinic for Cardiology and Angiology and Deputy Medical Director of the Elisabeth Hospital Essen ( UMFST-UMCH Teaching Hospital) will give a lecture entitled “The Many Faces of the Myocardium – an MRI Journey”.
In his presentation at ReachHigher, the Essen-based physician will discuss recent advances in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI is one of the best-known imaging techniques and is used primarily in diagnostics to visualize the structure and function of tissues and organs in the body. Recent developments enable treating physicians to obtain, among other results, a high-resolution image of myocardial damage, which Dr. Bruder will discuss in his lecture. At UMFST-UMCH, he will give students a general insight into the world of cardiac MRI and the differential diagnosis of heart failure. The lecture is intended for all students – but especially those interested in cardiology in general and heart failure in particular.
Dr. Bruder is one of the pioneers of cardiac MRI and a leading expert in this field. In addition to his work for the Elisabeth Hospital in Essen, he also serves as Professor of Medicine at the Ruhr University in Bochum. He has served as chairman of the German Working Group for Cardiac MRI, course director of German and European courses in cardiac MRI, and lead investigator of the European Cardiac MRI Registry.
