On August 3, 2020, a cooperation agreement was signed between UMCH and the Spanish hospital association Union Murciana de Hospitales y Clinicas (UMHC). As a result, the steadily growing network of UMCH teaching hospitals will be expanded by 15 new clinics and academic teaching practices for the time being – a number that may be further increased if necessary.
Through the cooperation with the UMHC, interested UMCH students will have the additional option of completing the bedside teaching, which takes place during the clinical part of medical studies, in English at one of the Spanish institutions. These are located not far from the Mediterranean Sea in the region around Murcia and range from larger houses to retirement homes and special facilities, such as a psychiatric clinic.
Thanks to the new teaching hospitals, studying at UMCH – where great importance is already attached to internationality – offers its students even more opportunities to get to know other places of study, health systems and cultures.
