Christmas spirit at the Hamburg campus

December 22, 2021

The holidays are just around the corner. However, the spirit of Christmas could already be felt on the Hamburg campus throughout the month. On December 6 and 7, for example, waffles and punch were served to all students and faculty in the festively decorated UMCH Cafeteria. During the same period, goodie bags with various small gifts were offered to the students in the Cafeteria as well. In addition, on December 10, a joint lunch was held for the lecturers of the second module.

In the spirit of Christmas philanthropy, the UMCH Charity Club organized a donation campaign during the week of December 6-10 to collect clothing and hygiene items for the church congregation Luthergemeinde Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. Boxfuls of donations were collected, which will benefit people in need. The Charity Club was the initiative of two UMCH students, Marina Strähle and Julika Tan, who together also created the podcast “Karma Office”. In this podcast, they discuss topics from the fields of medicine, health and personal development. In the first episode, which was published on December 7, the two interviewed Prof. a.c. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Michael Mian, MBA and Dr. Florian Zerzer from the South Tyrol Health Authority on the topic of “Back to the future – Innovation, Research and Teaching”. Under the same motto, the South Tyrolean physicians recently gave a ReachHigher lecture.

We wish all our students, lecturers, staff and all our supporters a contemplative holiday season and a good start into the new year 2022.
