Lecture: “Why it is Important to Learn Anatomy from Minute 1” (Lecture Language: English)

On December 7, 2023, the Medical Director of UMCH, Hon. Prof. Dr. med. Dirk Jentschura, will be a speaker at our ReachHigher lecture series.

The former Chief Physician of the Clinic for General and Visceral Surgery of the UMFST-UMCH Teaching Hospital Deaconess Foundation Hospital Speyer will give a lecture entitled “Why it is Important to Learn Anatomy from Minute 1” A sound knowledge of human anatomy is essential for physicians in all specialties. After all, the human body is always the subject of medical treatment. Hon.-Prof. Jentschura knows that such knowledge is just as important for understanding the course of diseases as it is for many other areas, such as the correct performance of computer tomographies and ultrasound examinations. In his lecture, he therefore discusses a variety of body parts – for example, the thyroid and parathyroid glands, gall bladder, stomach and rectum. Based on these body parts and by means of videos showing surgical procedures using probe images, he will illustrate the importance of communicating the internal structure of the human organism.
