Welcome Days 2021 – First-year students begin their medical studies at UMCH

September 27, 2021

On September 23 and 24, 2021, UMCH hosted its Welcome Days for first-year students of the 2021/22 academic year.

To kick off the two days, Dean Assoc. Prof. Simona Muresan, MD, PhD first gave an overview of the most important facts about the study program in Human Medicine to all groups in the UMCH auditorium. After more presentations around campus life, the individual groups of first-year students headed to the cafeteria for lunch, where they were able to get to know each other better. Afterwards, the young medical students were prepared for their upcoming student life at various stations. Among other things, they received a crash course in Anatomy from UMCH lecturer Assoc. Prof. Vlad Vunvulea, Ph, who gave them a demonstration on the digital anatomy and dissection table from Anatomage. In addition, starting at the “Everybody needs some Buddy” station, the newbies were informed about student life and associated student clubs and events, and took part in a quiz, for which there was also a separate station. In the “Futuredoctor Bootcamp”, on the other hand, they were given insights into study content in a playful way. In the process, they were always accompanied by the buddies from the 2nd and 3rd years of study, who volunteered to assist the first-semester students.

We wish all first-year students, as well as all students for whom the second or third year of study is beginning, a successful start to the academic year 2021/22. We would also like to thank the buddies, who made a huge contribution to the success of the event and ensured that everyone felt comfortable and found their way around.
